Congratulations to Hampton Court G.C Member Nick Doddy who had a hole-in-one on 14th Feb – Valentines Day
The Par 3 8th Hole proves a tough hole with a sloping green at the front and protected by 5 front bunkers surounding the green, the hole was playing 159 yards off the white with a slight breeze off the right, with Nick taking an 8-iron to a tough pin position, and it was inch perfect finding it’s way into the cup.

Since everyone asks; I did buy everyone a drink in the bar but as our tee-time was 7:00 am (tee-ing off into the frozen scene from Narnia!) by the time we got back to the clubhouse most people were out on the course. So, no, it wasn’t too expensive.
In fact the frozen greens did help in one way though, since spotting the ball landing on the ice was virtually impossible it did, however, leave a nice ball track cross the green into the hole. Something the 4 golfers walking to the 2nd tee saw close up but we couldn’t from the tee box!
