January 9, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Dear Members,

Escape the snow this Sunday 11th January and join myself and Head Professional Karl Wesson at the club for our TIGER WOODS ‘09 CHALLENGE ON NINTENDO Wii

Hot beverages will available at the club from 10am when the fun will begin.

If you don’t fancy the Tiger challenge then why not bring the family down to experience the winter wonderland of the course this weekend.

Look forward to seeing you down at the club even if it is just for a coffee and to collect your 2010 club diary.

Regards

Golf Charity Day helps Children’s Hospices UK

August 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

childrens-hospices-ukHampton Court Palace Golf Club played hosts to  Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Charity Golf day on 30th July.

Butterfly 180pxChildren’s Hospices UK is the national charity that gives voice and support to all children’s hospice services. Our vision is for every child and young person who is not expected to reach adulthood – and their family – to have awareness of, and access to, the highest standards of care and support in the location of their choosing.

Organised by Mike Edwards from Rock Financial Consultants and managed by Carlo Zoccali from Hampton Court Palace Golf Club on the day, 11 teams took to the course to raise money for the charity, the weather just about held and only a few had to put up an umbreller to stay dry for a few holes.

The Everning with met with a three course evening meal and prize giving, followed by an auction presented by BBC Commentator Ian Robertson, various items where up for grabs like a signed England U-19 team cricket bat  one for the future & a four-ball at Woburn Golf Club.

A great day was had by all and chance to raise money for this charity, totals raised is still being calculated but we expect it to be well over £2000 pounds.

Hampton Court Golf Club Pro-Am 09

June 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club recently held their second annual Pro-Am tournament – to great acclaim.

On 29th May over 150 golfers teed off in glorious weather in the breathtaking surroundings of the Royal Park in Hampton Wick, where Hampton Court Palace Golf Club is situated.

Thirty eight teams of four, each team comprising three amateurs and one professional golfer, fought it out in a keenly-contested competition.

Refreshments were laid on throughout the course of the day, with a buffet lunch and a barbecue in the evening, making the day sociable as well as competitive!

The eventual winners were a local team – Nick Redfern (pro), Mark Woolman, Gary Bowler and Simon Vincent – with a fantastic score of 89 points. They won a 2-night weekend stay for four at St. Mellion International Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Cornwall, which has recently reopened after a £20m refurbishment.

There was also a professional tournament on the day, which was won jointly by ex-US Tour player James Maclean and ex-European Tour player Andrew Raitt with excellent scores of 67 (four under par for the round).

There were several sponsors for the day, including Guy Salmon Jaguar, who put up the prize of a Jaguar car for anyone who scored a hole-in-one on the 8th hole. Sadly for the competitors, the Jag was later driven back to the garage, unclaimed.

Matthew Hazelden, General Manager of Hampton Court Palace GC said: “The second Hampton Court Palace Golf Club Pro-Am was great fun for all involved, and I would like to thank our sponsors who helped make it a day to remember.

“The amateurs really enjoyed playing with the professionals, and benefited from a little on-the-course coaching!

“The investment our owners Crown Golf have made in improvements at Hampton Court GC over recent years means that our golf course has never played better, and numbers for the event were up on last year. This is a great sign, particularly in these difficult economic times.

“I’m very keen to build on the success of this year’s tournament, and am planning next year’s event already!”

February 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

As i Look out of my window this morning and see clear sky’s, with no snow or rain in sight and according to the weather lady with temperatures of 12 degrees, i feel it’s time to hopefully put the waterproofs and beanie away.

So what will be your aims this coming year?
Finally getting 3 cards in for your handicap, play in a few competitions or maybe even play some golf abroad, why not post a comment one your aims for this coming year, I’m just holding out for some good weather, as my friend would say “We can’t have three bad summers in a row” (Mr. G Riggott) , lets hope not.

In other news with only a week away from the Accenture Match Play Championship get under way in the US and still to be determined is whether Tiger Woods, the No. 1 seed and defending champion, decides to make his return from knee surgery  he has until have until 5 p.m. this Friday to enter the tournament.

What are your thoughts will the Tiger be back to defend ?
Have you ever picked up a golf related injury that has has stopped you playing the game we love, we would like to hear about it and maybe even give you some tips on preventing injury in the coming weeks from our resident Physio.

Enjoy the Weather… and Have Fun
